Bob Daniels, Head Coach

Bob Daniels, the all-time winningest coach at Ferris State, is in his 16th year behind the Bulldogs' bench.
Daniels reached another milestone in his distinguished coaching career in the 2004-05 season by earning his 200th career victory in a 6-2 decision over Western Michigan.
In 2002-03, Daniels led the Bulldogs to their best season in the program's NCAA Division I history with 31 victories, which also earned FSU the distinction of being the nation's first team to reach the 30-win plateau. In the process, Ferris claimed its first CCHA regular-season title, advanced to the CCHA Super Six Tournament for the first time since 1993 and made its initial NCAA Tournament appearance. As a result, Daniels was named the CCHA Coach of the Year and the Spencer Penrose Award winner as the American Hockey Coaches Association national Coach of the Year.
He has coached eight All-Americans during his FSU tenure, most notably 2002-03 Hobey Baker Hat Trick Award finalist and CCHA Player of the Year Chris Kunitz.
Daniels recorded his 100th career coaching victory in the 1998-99 regular-season finale at Michigan State with a 2-1 triumph. His school record-setting 120th win occurred March 4, 2000, when the Bulldogs notched a 7-0 regular-season finale victory at Western Michigan. Ferris proceeded to post a 21-16-4 overall mark in 1999-00, which represented the first time since the 1992-93 that the Bulldogs won at least 20 games in a single season. FSU also finished with a .500 record in league play to finish at, or above, the break-even mark in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 1979-80 campaign.
Daniels was appointed as head coach prior to the 1992-93 season. In his first year at the helm, the Bulldogs turned in one of the finest seasons in the program's history with 21 victories and a CCHA semifinal berth.
Daniels first joined the FSU staff in 1989-90 as an assistant to John Perpich and then coached under Bob Mancini from 1990-92. He broke into the CCHA as an assistant at the University of Illinois-Chicago (1987-89) and helped the Flames secure a third-place CCHA finish in 1988-89.
Daniels received his bachelor of arts in accounting from Michigan State in 1982 and he holds a master's degree in sports organization from Miami University.
A native of Livonia, Mich., Daniels and his wife, Leslie, are the parents of two daughters - Jenna and Sara, and a son, Pete.
