Forward David Steckel, who skated for the Ohio State Buckeyes from
2000-2004, notched his first three goals of the season last week,
including a power-play gamewinner, a shorthanded tally and an empty net
marker for Reading of the East Coast Hockey League before being called up
by the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League on Sunday,
November 14. The West Bend, Wisc., native leads the Royals with eight
points in nine games. The L.A. Kings first-round pick in the 2001 NHL
Entry Draft also had two assists to help Reading (4-5-0) to three
consecutive wins this past week.
