Former Michigan goaltender Marty Turco earns CCHA Alumni of the Week honors after becoming the Dallas Stars all-time wins leaders between the pipes. Turco, who entered last week with 158 wins in 292 career games, made 20 saves in a 3-1 win over Los Angeles on Jan. 15 to move within one victory of former Stars goaltender Ed Belfour's franchise mark. Turco tied Belfour by blocking 18 shots in a 4-2 win over Calgary on Jan. 17 before passing his former goaltending partner with a 25-save performance in a 2-1 shootout victory at Minnesota on Jan. 20. During the win over the Wild, Turco stopped 11 third period shots and allowed only two scores from nine Minnesota skaters during the shootout. On Wednesday, Turco will represent the Western Conference in the 2007 NHL All-Star Game at his home rink in Dallas, Texas. It is the third time in his NHL career that Turco will participate in the NHL All-Star Game. Turco played four seasons at the University of Michigan from 1994-98 and backstopped two Wolverine teams to NCAA National Championships in 1996 and 1998. He was named CCHA First Team All-Conference and was an NCAA All-American his junior season.
